History of Hazleton Area RPC
May 1st, 1994
We held our first service at the White Haven Center with four households attending. Later, in June of that year, services moved to the Altamont building, and in August we had our first baptisms.
April 1995
We became a Mission Church, and in May we had our first observation of the Lord’s Table.
September 1995
We moved to our current building at Roosevelt and 19th Streets. And then the church began to grow but not without growing pains.
1999
Mark England was called as pulpit supply and stayed for two years.
2007-2009
Chris Bogosh briefly pastored from 2007 until 2008. The Hazleton flock once again sought God’s leading in supplying a shepherd. Pastor Paul Brace was chosen and he and his family arrived in 2009. He was installed on May 2nd.
2015-2019
The Lord blessed in mighty ways, and through multiple channels, the congregation greatly expanded in 2015. By the end of 2016, the congregation had 43 communicant members, 32 baptized members, and 4 adherents. Average Sunday morning attendance was 65.
2020-2022
Covid-19 could not stop us from worshiping the Lord. In fact, by May of 2020, we were worshiping in 3 locations, responding to the needs of the faithful to gather for worship, despite possible health risks.
God is good and He blesses us far beyond what we deserve or even imagine.
